EPIDEMIC: Théâtre de Colère from Ben Benaouisse, Einat Tuchman, Kurt Vandendriessche, Helmut Van den Meersschaut, Stijn Dickel, Lazara Rosell Albear and Chris Van der Burght.
Synopsis: During 5 days various artists worked around the theme of permanent rage at Hoet Bekaert Gallery in Ghent, Belgium. Inspired by the film Epidemic directed by Lars Von Trier they unconsciously readapted the original script. They engaged in a contrapuntal instantly performative investigation at an open but secluded space. They started with the last chapter of the film work and arrived to an end with the first chapter. An energetic, poetic and emotional extreme world as a result. Lazara Rosell Albear shot the performances during the five days for the making of a film. An intimate and raw portrayal of a group of individuals forced loose into a situation with a set of rules: a pre-existent script, a set of props, a confined space, live sound manipulation by sound artist Stijn Dickel and the Erbarme Dich of Johann Sebastian Bach.
